Another one Yellowstone fighting is a bargain!
The co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan has filed a lawsuit against one of his own stars – Cole Hauser, who plays Rip’s favorite, murderous-yet-romantic.
The whole thing is more than coffee.
Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch — a filming location for Yellowstone and 1883 – was filed in federal court in Texas against Hauser’s coffee company, Free Rein, on November 21.
The issue? The logo of the Free Rein coffee company is similar to the logo of the Sheridan company. To make things a little more confusing, the logos are like real cow breeds – Bosque’s logo has a “BR” mixed in and Free Rein has an “FR” mixed in.
The lawsuit alleges “trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising” and accuses Free Rein of a logo that is “confused with the BR Brand for similar products” and further accuses Free Rein is trying to “mislead or mislead about association, association, or association” with livestock. In other words: Sheridan’s company has been there, done that, and Free Rein doesn’t have the freedom to use a similar sign that says “Bosque Ranch can’t be harmed.”
Bosque Ranch launched in July its brand of coffee that reflects “the way of life of the Cowboy” and its advertising copy explains, “one thing is as important to a Cowboy as his boots and his saddle. the coffee. It’s our fuel. Bosque Ranch Craft Coffee is strong but smooth, and should be drunk all day. And sometimes all night.” When Free Rein coffee was launched three months later, it said its coffee was “born from the cowboy tradition” and had product names like “American Dirt” and “Heavy Spur.”
The websites for both coffee shops show Sheridan and Hauser, standing outside in cowboy hats holding a cup of java, gazing wistfully at the far away. No other party has commented, so it is unclear whether the lawsuit will prevent Free Rein from using the logo.
The lawsuit adds to the ongoing controversy over the Paramount series, which has been on hiatus for a number of reasons including Sheridan’s feud with the show’s other star, Kevin Costner, who apparently retreated from photography. Sources from the production blamed the actor’s busyness, while sources from the actor’s camp said that Sheridan was taking on many TV projects so that he could not focus enough on the show, and Sheridan himself pointed to Paramount’s high demand for more material for his film. scare service.
Costner has also threatened to sue Paramount over what he believes is money owed to him for the remainder of season 5, which was not filmed. and it is not certain whether the man will attend.
Instead, Costner is directing and starring in a series of Western films, titled Horizonthe first two are scheduled for release next year. Yellowstone Production is expected to resume early next year and return at the end of 2024 for its final stages.
Costner, from time to time, also has a coffee that shows a photo of him outside in a cowboy hat and holding a cup. The name of the coffee: Horizon Blend.
