NEW DELHI: A day after arriving in the national capital, the former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje It called on BJP president JP Nadda late in the evening on Thursday even as the party’s top brass said it was keeping a close eye on what was happening in the desert state in the time the brass did not complete the next chief minister of the state.
Sources said the party president met him to take him into his confidence before confirming the next chief minister because he has been the chief minister twice and his views will be important in making decision.
Raje arrived in Delhi on Wednesday evening and went to meet the party president at his residence amid reports of several MLAs being kept under guard in an area on the outskirts of Jaipur.
MLA Lalit Meena’s father said that the newly elected legislator from Kishanganj was kept there by other MLAs. After her father informed the party office, Meena was brought on Wednesday morning.
The father of Rajasthan BJP Lalit Meena accused the party’s MP Dushyant Singh, son of Raje, of keeping his son and five other members from Jhalawar and Barra at a place.
Former BJP MP Hemraj Meena said that when he got information about the same, he went to Rajasthan’s Apano resort to bring his son home. However, he said, BJP MLA Kanwarlal said that he can take his son home after talking to Dushyant Singh.
“I went to take her (Lalit Meena) from ‘Apano Rajasthan Resort’. Dushyant Singh took her. Kanwarlal who is an MLA tried to stop me, he said I should talk to Dushyant Singh first then He (Lalit Meena) was taken. Five MPs were in the hotel,” Meena told reporters.
Meena alleged that a fight ensued when Rajasthan BJP poll-in-charge Arun Singh and party president CP Joshi were informed about the incident.
The BJP MLA’s father said that senior party leaders along with the police reached the spot, and he was able to take his son Lalit Meena home. Hemraj Meena added that five more BJP members have been transferred to another place by Vasundhara Raje’s camp.
