If you want a taste of what freedom of the press will look like under the MAGA dictatorship, look no further than GOP Sen. Jack Vance is required by the Department of Justice to conduct a criminal investigation against a Washington Post reporter who wrote a warning of a MAGA. administration.
Vance, who rose to fame after his book Hillbilly Elegy became the best person, told Fox News that Robert Kagan had sparked a “new revolution” against the United States for his opinion entitled, “Trump’s authoritarianism is very much inevitable. Pretense must be given up.”
In his piece, Kagan wrote, “Resistance may come from the governors of many Democratic states such as California and New York through some form of impeachment. States that have governors Democrats and state houses can refuse to recognize the authority of a tyrannical federal government. It’s always a choice in our federal system.”
Vance’s petition to Attorney General Merrick Garland stated:
“As you know, attorneys at the Department of Justice have adopted a number of remarkably broad interpretations of federal law in their effort to implicate President Trump in criminal charges. One or more people in their use free of ‘the right to vote, and to count his vote.’ In that case, I would like to know if a supporter of President Trump can be ‘fear(d)’ into giving up the right to vote after learning that Robert Kagan has encouraged large blue states to revolt against in the United States if Trump is elected. If so, I wonder if the editors of the Washington Post, in putting Kagan’s call to arms in print, may have conspired to prevent the election. .
