The evil has been done. The message has been sent.
The Russian fifth column, also known as the MAGA Republicans, has put a big question mark on whether the United States can be expected to be a reliable ally in Ukraine and our European treaty partners. By halting progress on more funding for Ukraine, the right-wing GOP has shown a disregard for US national security that looks bleak for the year ahead. .
Obviously, even if the aid for Ukraine is confirmed, Vladimir Putin has got the message. It will be difficult for President Joe Biden to provide the support needed to achieve progress or victory on the battlefield in Ukraine, and if Donald Trump is elected in November, the when the West’s efforts against Russian aggression are destroyed.
MAGA leaders are clearly defined. They don’t care about protecting our European partners. They don’t care about protecting democracy. They don’t care about the hundreds of thousands of victims of Russia’s attacks – the dead, the wounded, the abducted, the homeless, the displaced, the children consigned to a terrible life because the monster in the Kremlin.
They don’t care how much the majority of Congress supports the president’s proposal. They don’t care that the amount of aid we give to Ukraine is less than 1 percent of the government budget. They don’t care that from a security perspective, our support for Ukraine may have provided the greatest return on investment of anything in our history.
A recent report by the Pentagon revealed the fact that, with the help of the United States and allies, Ukraine has destroyed the Russian military. According to American intelligence, Moscow has lost almost nine out of ten of the ground forces it had at the beginning of its attack on Ukraine. He lost two-thirds of his tanks.
The military power of one of America’s most dangerous enemies has been completely destroyed for less than a penny from each of our budget dollars. But the petty, dishonest MAGA politicos on Capitol Hill just don’t care.
They offer flimsy arguments to defend their position. Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) argued some want us to cut Social Security to give Ukraine a bailout so some of their government ministers can “buy a big boat.”
Even the brother of Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) was forced to call the statement “complete and unrelenting.”
How come?
Well, for one thing, no one is suggesting to cut Security in order to get help from Ukraine. For another, Ukraine’s aid is not large enough to warrant such cuts. Also, most of our aid to Ukraine is not actually going to Ukraine. It goes to American defense manufacturers to provide weapons and supplies to that country. Money spent here supports our economy and our employees.
Vance expressed displeasure at the fact that he added to his lies by walking out of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy where he may have actually learned something.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, the leader of the effort to block Ukraine’s money, also made false statements to defend his indefensible actions. He is said, “I have been asking the White House since the day I was given the nod to be speaker for clarification. We need a clear statement of the plan to allow Ukraine to win. So far, they have not given enough answers.”
He said this despite the administration’s frequent, detailed, and clear public and private announcements of its Ukraine policy and goals over the past two years. Few such policies have been detailed in our history.
But, you know, that doesn’t matter to Johnson—because the facts don’t usually matter to the speaker who refuses to vote. He just wanted to play politics.
The GOP has asked, without good reason, to tie more aid to Ukraine (as well as aid to Israel) to more money for border security and immigration policies.
The Democrats have made many compromises and are trying to make a compromise. But this week, the Republican representatives of the House and the Senate said “no,” they could not bother to negotiate before the deadline approved by the White House. In doing so, they communicated in a vague manner that they do not care about the prices in Ukraine, or our national security, or threats on behalf of our friends.
What a presidential Christmas for Vlad!
It’s like MAGA world wants to show more transparency. They want Vlad to know that if he stays longer, they will change the support that Ukraine has received. They will weaken Ukraine’s ability to resist. They will make our friends more vulnerable. They will further demonstrate that Russia will be forced to go further into Europe – to a point where we will no longer be able to stop American forces from operating, as we have done in Ukraine.
It is a message that is not only impossible to send, but one that you can expect to hear from the candidate Trump between the trial, the photo and the punishment in the next year.
Senior US Officer believe even if Putin is trying to stop the war until Trump, with our support (if he finally arrives) and our partners in Ukraine will be able to achieve significant gains against Russia in the 2024. So they will keep pushing for it.
And the Biden administration will continue to send a message that Putin and the world must heed: If Biden is re-elected, Ukraine and our other friends and partners can expect that they will do everything in their power to defeat Putin and repair the damage that has already been done to his military, his economy, and his position in the world.
