Says Florida Joker GTA 6 trailer ripped off his viral mugshot, wants millions

The Florida Joker, like everyone else in his state, saw the Grand Theft Auto VI crash last week. Now he wants to get paid.

Lawrence Patrick Sullivan, a tattoo artist in South Florida whose mugshot went viral due to the appearance of a Batman villain, posted several TikToks in response to the new GTA game from Rockstar Games.

The 90-second trailer is filled with Florida-inspired images pulled straight from the state’s most dangerous headlines (someone even did a compilation comparing the right frames to real news). Shortly after the trailer’s one-minute mark, there’s a shot of a guy with dyed hair and tats that look familiar to Sullivan.

“We need to talk, GTA” Sullivan said in one of his TikToks. “If not, you should give me a (million) or two.”

The Florida Joker, sometimes called the Miami Joker, entered our collective consciousness after being arrested on May 23, 2017, in West Kendall. He was accused by Miami-Dade police of pointing a gun at moving vehicles. The Miami Herald reported that Sullivan admitted to having a gun in his pocket, but did not have a concealed weapons permit.

“It’s expensive,” Sullivan said.

Then his photo of the plate – showing a shock of green hair and colorful tattoos similar to Heath Ledger’s image of the Joker – circulated on the Internet.

In 2018, Sullivan was arrested at a Pinellas County home on the 200 block of Mirror Lake Drive North on a charge of violating his probation. He told WFLA-Ch. 8 because he missed many court appointments.

“My mother is 70 years old and has multiple sclerosis, so I don’t really work but my father is 70 years old, so it is difficult for me to get a job. money to pay for classes and get an Uber there. So I didn’t have a ride or money at that time,” Sullivan said in an interview from the Pinellas County Jail.

In that WFLA interview, he shared that the Joker’s character reminds him of a rose. His tattoos, which have helped him earn money through social media, represent rebirth. Sullivan has been through a lot of trouble, from breaking up with his fiancee to the death of a friend in Orlando.

“Reborn again, die again kind of thing. That old Lawrence you saw with a clear face, is dead,” he said. “This is the new Lawrence slash Joker.”

Sullivan is not the first person to need money after seeing them in a GTA game. Business Insider reported that Lindsay Lohan sued Rockstar Games in 2014 after noticing a resemblance to himself in the character Lacey Jones. Her suit was dismissed by the New York Supreme Court in 2016, since Rockstar Games “never referred to Lohan by name or used her real name in the video game, nor did Lohan herself as a character.” image for the video game, and no image was used. of Lohan.”

“Furthermore, Lohan’s claim that her image was used in advertising materials for the video game must also be dismissed,” the court said. “The pictures aren’t Lohan herself, just the avatar in the game that Lohan says is a picture of her.”

That didn’t stop Sullivan from seeking justice.

“Florida Joker ain’t got that,” Sullivan said in one of his TikToks. “You all made me look. You took my whole life.”
