At least four people have died and more than 200 people have been displaced after a disaster Fire victims near the mortuary of the San Giovanni Evangelista hospital in the Roman city of Tivoli late Friday night, according to Italian fire extinguisher
The fire broke out in the basement between the hospital, the hospital and the kitchen at about 10:30 pm local time (4:30 pm ET) and quickly spread to the emergency room above the floor above.
Witnesses who were in the emergency room awaiting treatment said the power went out and the fire appeared to have quickly consumed the entire wing, according to Italian reports.
Two of the four victims died from smoke inhalation, one from a heart attack and one from burns. Other bodies that were in the mortuary at that time were also burned, said the fire department.
Seven children and a few newborn babies were among those taken away. A hospital spokesperson told CNN’s Sky24 that 134 of the refugees were transferred to nearby hospitals.

A representative of the fire department said that the wires in the house and some of the chemicals stored there may be some of the causes of the fire.
Firefighters battled the fire for about five hours and will conduct a thorough search for more victims after the building is finished.
The hospital, part of the Roman health system, was first built in 1337.
