Oprah Winfrey revealed that she recently turned to a weight loss medication after years of struggling with her weight.
In an interview with People’s magazinethe former talk show host recalled the public taunts she endured for years about her size and how she handled the criticism.
“It’s a public game that’s made fun of me for 25 years,” Winfrey told People.

“I didn’t feel angry,” he told People. “I felt sad, I felt pain, I swallowed the shame, I accepted it was my fault.”
Winfrey’s weight changes have been documented, but things began to improve for her health during her recovery from knee surgery in 2021.

“The fact that there is a medically proven prescription for weight control and staying healthy, for the rest of my life, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift , but not something to hide behind and laugh at. shame from other people but especially me.”
