Vice President Kamala Harris was shouted down by a Democratic state legislator as she made a speech during a holiday party at her home on Monday.

The event took place at the home of Harris and his second husband, Doug Emhoff, at the US Naval Observatory in Washington, DC, where the couple hosted a number of Democratic state and local representatives for days. relax

Harris, 59, was in the middle of his speech when Delaware state representative Madinah Wilson-Anton (D) displayed a sign that read “stop” and began yelling at the vice president.

“Madam Vice President, I am a representative from Delaware. Did you know in Bethlehem they don’t celebrate Christmas? Did you know in Bethlehem, the baby Jesus is under the ruins? Why don’t you call for a stop? Wilson-Anton yelled at Harris.

“I appreciate your desire to listen, but right now I’m speaking,” replied Harris as he escorted the state legislator out of the party.

Wilson-Anton has served in the Delaware House of Representatives since 2021 and became the first Muslim elected representative in the state after winning her 2020 race by more than 40 points.

He previously worked as a researcher at the University of Delaware’s Biden Institute, a thinker named President Biden, who graduated from the school in 1965.

“Christmas canceled in Bethlehem,” Wilson-Anton written on X after interfering with the vice president.

He included a video of the event in his tweet, in which he marked several groups of Palestinian protesters and combined the hashtags “FreePalestine,” “StopTheGenocide,” “CeasefireNOW,” “GazaGenocide” and “StopArmingIsrael.”

Wilson-Anton’s request came days after a group of more than 40 White House interns wrote an anonymous letter urging Biden, 81, and Harris to call for an “immediate on the ceasefire” in Gaza, accusing the president and veep of “ignoring” the “pleadings of the American people.”

Israel declared war on Hamas shortly after the terrorist group attacked the Jewish state on October 7, killing more than 1,200 people and taking many more hostages.

The Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry estimates that more than 15,500 Palestinians have died as a result of the conflict.

The Israeli government agreed to a seven-day ceasefire late last month to allow humanitarian aid to Gaza and for Hamas to release prisoners in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

The temporary suspension ended on December 1.

Since the beginning of the war, the White House has expressed support for humanitarian aid “suspension” but not a complete freeze.

Several Democratic lawmakers, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) have asked the president for a ceasefire in the conflict.
