BEREA, Ohio (WJW) – The Cleveland Browns have moved QB Joe Flacco off the practice squad, the team said Saturday.
Cleveland coaches have yet to announce who will start at quarterback on Sunday, but the last time the Browns moved Flacco was the week before the Rams game, and it wasn’t long before he was named. Flacco started in Los Angeles’ 36-19 loss.
The Browns also announced on Saturday that, in order to make room on the roster, the team waived QB PJ Walker, but in the NFL if a player is waived and not traded by another team, this team, in which case the Browns can re-sign Walker.
Sometimes teams will move players back and forth from the practice squad to the official game day roster, as the Browns explained in the their information on Saturday.
CLEVELAND BROWNS ROSTER MOVE STATEMENT
“The club can take up to 55 players on its roster per week by moving one or two players from its training squad before the transfer deadline that precedes the game. The rule allows teams a large pool to choose from with their players having 47 or 48 game days. Any player transferred from the practice team for this purpose, will immediately return to his team’s team on the day following the game.“
The Browns (7-5) host the (8-4) Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at 1pm at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
