A Texas couple has made National Gingerbread House Day special this year by creating a cookie model of one of their favorite places: Buc-ee’s.
Deanna and Paul Vaters of Georgetown, about 30 miles south of Austin, created a replica Buc-ee’s located about an hour from their home in Bastrop – a place where they “stop always in that way we start our vacation,” Deanna Vaters said, according to a local government videos posted on X on Tuesday.
The Bastrop Buc-ee’s, at least in its humble form, comes with cars, electrical outlets, gas pumps and printed photos of Deanna Vaters’ employees at various locations around the store.
“We bought all the cars, got all the candy and tried to make it happen,” Vaters said in the video.
Community builders were also shown completing other tasks, such as changing a tire, filling up their Tesla, or giving their dog a chance to stretch their legs and go for a walk. bathroom
“If you really look at the windows, you can see people inside, walking around,” Vaters said. “All these gas stations, people are getting gas and people are checking their luggage. Basically, it’s a travel stop on your way to your vacation and these are the things people are doing.”
To make it more fun, the couple put ice on the store, gas station, on the ground and on the trees to make the snow appear. It also included Santa and his reindeer at the top of the store getting ready for departure.

How did the idea for Buc-ee’s toast come about?
The Vaters were on vacation recently when Paul Vaters suggested Buc-ee’s as the theme for the annual toast. They ran with the advice and took pictures of the Buc-ee where they were in Bastrop.
For creation, Deanna Vaters also photographed her colleagues at the The Williamson County Tax Commissioner’s Office. He does that every year.
“I think the staff is looking forward to that because they’re always thinking about what kind of shape they’re going to have for the next year,” he said in the video. maps or little caps I put on them.”

Vaters has been doing these special creations for the Tax Office for the last 6 years he has been working there, but has done it for other places he has worked.

“I have been doing these things for a long time. We love it. My wife and I love it,” he said. “We love to do things for employees, wherever we work we love to use any kind of Christmas. We love to make people happy, and people really appreciate it.”
