A protest on the 110 Freeway blocked morning traffic for more than an hour Wednesday in downtown Los Angeles.
Protesters clashed around 9 a.m. on the south side of the freeway near Third Street. California Highway Patrol officers were at the scene, where the morning stopped on the ground.

CHP officers began taking people into custody before 10 a.m. Most of the protesters were removed by 10:30 a.m., but most of the vehicles appeared from the break due to mechanical problems, and added to the headache of cars. Trailers removed the cars.
The CHP said 75 people were arrested, but it was not clear if all of the people were protesters.
The 110 Freeway connects downtown LA with Long Beach to the south and the San Gabriel Valley to the northeast.
The protest was organized by a group calling for a permanent Israeli-Hamas ceasefire in Gaza. In November, many protesters closed the roads on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge for about four hours, asking President Joe Biden to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.
